applesauce + barbecue sauce...does this sound like an odd combo for chicken marinade?
if so, you'll just have to trust me. this is a great simple recipe for a weeknight meal..
pair it with veggies, mashed potatoes, salad, or fruit and you're good!
you can make it in the crock pot, or bake it.
applesauce bbq chicken
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 t ground pepper
2/3 cup chunky applesauce
2/3 cup BBQ sauce
2 T brown sugar
Instructions
for the crockpot:
1. Spray Crockpot with non-stick cooking spray
for the crockpot:

2. Place chicken breasts on bottom.
3. Mix all remaining ingredients together, and pour over chicken.
4. Cook 6-8 hours on low setting. Serves 4.
for the oven:
- Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Mix up all ingredients for sauce, and pour over chicken.
- Make sure all sides of chicken breasts are covered.
- Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes, or according to chicken package directions.
- Flip chicken breasts mid-way through, and make sure sauce is covering all sides.
