dunn family photos

well, it's official! my parents made
the 22-hour flight and are currently
in johannesburg, SA! it's crazy but i
am so happy for them and can't wait
to follow their adventures + visit.
in the meantime, i'm so happy we took
these family pictures on our last trip
as a family in laguna beach. we will
cherish them extra because we may
not all be in one place again for
the next 3 years, and by then our
family will have changed a lot!
thanks so much to cute stacy thiot of
for taking these and being so great.
she is based in LA and drove all the
way down to laguna with her husband
to take these. they were so cute with
the kids and helped make it easier
to shoot lots of pictures! it felt so
laid back and nice, and i will
now have these to look at
when i'm missing everyone!

the cutest grandparents + kiddos i ever did see...
^^ the original dunn fam
^^ in love with this one! already miss these cuties.
 ^^sibling love

^^ i love this looks like a metaphor to me,
all of us sitting on the edge of something looking
out at the horizon // future... so cheesy but kind
of represents the big change to come and being in
it all together! (forgive me for the sap!! :)

thanks again to stacy of red poppy photography...
these are some pictures we will love forever,
and we can't recommend her enough.
it's all about family!

couscous with chicken, broccoli, & sun-dried tomatoes

you know how things taste better when camping?
you're out in the wilderness, hiking all day and
roughing it, and an amazing meal is really
noticeable + memorable + appreciated. the
first time we had this dish was while camping
with our besties in yosemite last month, and
we've been craving it ever since. thanks to kendall
for introducing it to us and making it on our trip!
she just threw it together, but here is a recipe
based off of it. we made it this week and loved
it just as much! it's so perfect for summer...
so here you are! go enjoy it as much as we did!
chicken & parmesan couscous
with broccoli + sundried tomatoes

--2 chicken breasts, baked and cubed
--2 cups broccoli, cooked
--1/3 cup chopped sundried tomatoes, drained from jar
--1 package (5.9 ounce) parmesan couscous mix // we used near east brand
--1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

// cook chicken and broccoli (with garlic) separately, set aside.
// cook couscous over stove according to package directions.
// mix chicken and broccoli into couscous, then add in sundried tomatoes.
// mix well and serve warm! you'll love the flavor combination.
enjoy! xo

last year on the 4th of july we were
flying across the ocean to china...
which was amazing, but not so patriotic.
this year we're excited to celebrate in the
USA, and we want to do it in style -- so i
stopped into one of my favorite stores in
salt lake city while visiting home last week
to stock up on cute festive decorations.
bloomingsales is the cutest shop because
it's a combination of a flower shop and a
darling boutique. it's a go-to place for not
only gorgeous flowers but darling gifts and
decorations as well! i always find a reason

it feels good to be back in SF!

it's feeling good to be back in SF this week
for a few reasons... 1) coming back here
gets my mind off my parents moving and
reminds me that we live away and have our
own adventure out here! 2) we have our darling
new apartment to come home to, and i am in
love with it. i can't wait to use these weeks in
between jobs to organize and put the place together!
3) i made it back just in time for the caitlin wilson
textiles trunk show and blog brunch, which i am
so happy about! i adore her work and i have a
feeling i can pick a few things up for our new place :)
SF friends, come with me to the trunk show
tomorrow, june 26th! details are well
as a few pictures of pretty SF welcoming us home.
^^ i'll be there, hope to see some of you in SF!
so happy the date worked now that i'm
home after 18 days! lucky lucky!

and, here's why it's always nice to come
back to san francisco: i mean...
love you SF, cheers to being back and
starting a new chapter in our new place!

highlights from home

aside from saying goodbye to my parents,
we had lots of other fun like always in SLC.
here are a few highlights to wrap up the trip!

^^ tried some new SLC food spots, including
taqueria 27. try their roasted guacamole por favor!

^^ i was so happy to catch a rainy day
in SLC while we were there so i had an
excuse to go to einsteins with my mom
for some broccoli-cheese soup + hot choc.

^^ love having these buddies to hang out with
when we come into town. we need a pup!

^^ i will never ever get over the view
of mount olympus from my street..
sorry, i just won't! favorite view.

^^ we got to celebrate chase's mom's birthday!
i'm so glad it was perfect timing that we were in town...
and we got the famous magelby's cake, world's best!
we love you shel and loved celebrating you!

^^ we also got to be in town for the baby blessing
of chase's nephew parker! such good timing! tay did
the best job and of course kenzie had a perfect spread
at her house complete with dodo sandwiches...

^^ can you STAND how darling their house is?

^^ wheeler farm outing with auntie em!

^^ lots of nephew time...parker, tagg, zach, and will too!

^^ shopping outings with my mama, i'll miss these!
next time we'll be having outings in johannesburg :)

^^ pedicures + snow cones. life's little delights!

^^ midnight showing of "the fault in our stars,"
tearjerker but so well done! i recommend both
the book and the movie...but you've probably seen it!

^^ baby zach is still as sweet as ever and only getting better.
can you handle this smile? we are all so in love with him!
also, walking to church with little tagg boy was one of
the highlights of my week...he held my hand the whole way!

^^ riding the train at the zoo!
i promise tagg loved it but he
was too cool for the picture.. as
you can tell by his sideways hat :)
^^ hugs at the zoo. too cute!
why is being an auntie the best ?

^^ i loved walking around the zoo with
the little ones and my parents. they really
are some cute grandparents and i'm glad
we don't have kids yet since they're leaving!!

^^ pool days and our favorite drink

^^ hiking grandeur with the family

^^ island flavor snow cones, some of the best!
(minus the hour long line)

^^ and, one last sunday night walk with
chase's family before flying home.

salt lake always treats us well!
until next time..
