salted toffee chocolate squares

it's summertime which
means it's barbecue time
which means you need a great
new dessert recipe right??
---
one of my besties kendall
introduced me to this dessert
and i am so hooked that it's not
even funny. they are to-die-for and
so easy...always a good combo! it's
a martha stewart recipe that has been
tweaked a little, and they MELT in your
MOUTH. i promise they'll be the hit of any
party you take them to...including solo
parties in your kitchen :) they are the best!
i think next time i'll try them with coconut
oil so i don't have to feel quite as guilty, but
they are worth the indulgence either way.
it might seem funny that the base is graham
crackers, but no one would ever know once
they're baked! i love making these when i'm in a
rush but want to bring something good for dessert.
 ingredients
  • 13 graham crackers
  • 1 {8 ounce} bag toffee bits
  • 1 1/2 cups almond slivers
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter {can sub coconut oil!}
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

directions
  • • preheat oven to 350. line a baking sheet with foil. line a single layer of graham crackers on sheet with no spaces in between. sprinkle toffee bits + almonds evenly over graham crackers.
  • • in a small saucepan bring sugar + butter to a boil over medium heat. turn heat to low and simmer, swirling pan until mixture is syrupy {2-3 minutes}. pour over graham crackers right away, and bake at 350 until sugar topping is bubbly {about 10 minutes}.
  • • remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips + salt over graham crackers. cut into squares with a sharp knife, then let cool completely on sheet. best when stored in an airtight container and enjoyed within a few days.

hope you love these as much as we do!
xoxo
