coconut d r e a m bars

hi! i hope everyone is having a great + relaxing weekend..
if not, these are about to make it better. promise.
we whipped these up from ingredients we had on hand,
and loved them. it's daylight savings time and we're
all lacking a little sleep, so make these and
be sure to have a glass of milk with them!

coconut d r e a m bars

ingredients

    • 3 cups graham cracker crumbs {about 3 sleeves}
    • 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • 2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
    • 1 3/4 cups sweetened condensed milk

directions

  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees with a rack in the center of oven. grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. in a medium bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, melted coconut oil, and salt. pour mixture into prepared pan and press into bottom of pan.
  3. in another medium bowl, mix together chocolate chips and coconut.. sprinkle evenly over crust.
  4. pour condensed milk evenly over coconut and chips, covering the entire surface. transfer to oven and bake, rotating pan halfway through baking, 25 to 30 minutes.
  5. transfer baking pan to a wire rack to cool completely. cut into 20 squares. serve immediately, or wrap each bar tightly with plastic wrap and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

  11. This design is spectacular! You definitely know how to
keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I
was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!
) Wonderful job. I really enjoyed what you had to say,
and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

  14. These are one of my favorite desserts! My mom called them "Magic Bars" and would make them quite often when I was growing up. Yum! I gave up sweets for Lent, but definitely need to remember to make these for Easter Sunday dinner!
