1. 5:30 AM is too early to fly, but we are so lucky that we only live an hour
flight from home..and that blake brought us home for all of the events.
2. we met both of our cute moms in the morning when we landed before heading
down to southern utah. my mom sent us with a {giant} basket full of goodies,
including her homemade bread + honey butter, all of our favorite things from
trader joes, and lots of treats. it was a long drive after flying in so early,
but at least it was gorgeous scenery, yummy food and great company!
3. we are so happy we got to meet our newest little
niece mia jane...just two weeks old and so sweet!
4. we came home under sad circumstances, but it was so sweet to
be at the funeral for chase's grandpa truman. he was from a small
town and was the elementary school principle there, so the community
all came out for the funeral. we loved that truman's 1952 classic chevy
was running and was able to lead the funeral procession.
5. while going through old things at the house, we found some
great old pictures like this one of a younger grandpa truman {left}
and on the {right}, the cutest picture of chase's parents. babes!
6. we got even more puppy hungry this weekend, because chase's cousins had this new little pup and we fell in love. i didn't put her down the entire weekend!
7. despite all the treats, we did eat some healthy food...discovered the best smoothie at a juice bar: we got the all-in-one filled with carrots, kale, apples, banana, strawberries, blueberries, almond milk, quinoa, honey, & protein powder. my kind of smoothie!
we might have to recreate it at home now.
8. then it was back to feasting...we made it back to salt lake on sunday in time to
watch the superbowl with my family, and we were reminded of a downside of
living away..missing out on this kind of food! *we still love our niners even though they lost..
9. it's so fun to see our little nieces & nephews, but they grow up so much
in between the times we see them! little maddie mae is now playing with all
my old barbies at my parent's house...so cute! becoming a big girl!
10. and back safe and sound at 12:30 am...what a long monday it will be!
xo
