pear cake!

husband's birthday is TOMORROW!
i am so excited i can't even stand it...
i have the best surprise plans for him!
while i wait to celebrate, i'm making his
very very favorite birthday cake...

i had never had this delightful dessert until i met 
him, and boy had i been missing out! it is
the best. it's so unique but so comforting all
at once. i am now obsessed with it myself!

chase has had pear cake every single year 
for his birthday, so i love that this year
 i get to be the one who makes it for him!

pear cake recipe: 


  • 2 cups sugar 
  • 3 eggs well beaten 
  • 1.5 cups coconut oil  {can sub canola oil}
 -- cream above ingredients --

add dry ingredients 1 cup at a time and mix well:

  • 3 cups flour 
  • 1 tsp. baking soda 
  • 1 tsp. salt 
  • 1 tsp. vanilla 
  • 2 tsps. cinnamon 
  • slice 3-4 cups pears ...stir in by hand
    *i love to use fresh pears when they're in season, but you can also used drained canned pears in a bind.
pour into well greased bundt pan 
bake at 350 for 1 hour 
remove from pan and cool
