baked kale chips

baked sea salt kale chips
i know some people hate on kale, {cough cough..my husband} but no one can hate on this version. we have kale a lot, mostly in our green smoothies and salads..but it is a little bitter and chase doesn't like it uncooked. that's why i'm 100% obsessed with these kale chips, because baking the kale brings out the BEST flavor. even chase agrees! this is so simple and they can be served as a side, or mixed in to salads/ chicken/ and other dishes!

ingredients

  • 1 head kale, washed and completely dried {i buy the pre-cut kind at trader joe's..it is PERFECT for this}
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil {i use a misto sprayer to spritz the olive oil}
  • sea salt, for sprinkling
  • parmesan cheese {optional}

directions

preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. spread kale out on a sprayed baking sheet. toss with the olive oil and salt. bake for 20 minutes until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through. add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese if desired.

enjoy! i'll be sharing another recipe soon that uses this kale!

  2. I love kale chips and they are so easy to make, I always burn mine because I forget how fast they cook haha One other suggestion i have for flavoring is squeezing lemon juice over them, it really brings out a great flavor in the kale!

  4. I LOVE Kale chips! Yum!! The only way I will eat kale is by making the chips or steaming them in a dish. I'm actually not a fan of putting kale in my smoothies! Not because of the flavor, but because it ends up chunky in my smoothies. Strange. I prefer spinach.

  5. I love kale chips, but you should try this with collard greens! They hold their shape better than kale.
