hope everybody had a happy easter!
i love this holiday, because it falls at such a good time of year- spring!
i always associate it with warm weather returning,
blossoming trees, birds chirping, and sun shining.
easter has such an amazing meaning & focus as well.
we missed being with family this year, but the best part of
living away is that friends become family. we are lucky
to have such great friends out here in the bay!
here is a little recap of our easter weekend..
we woke up easter morning and had brunch:
^^ a yummy egg bake, plus grapefruit, strawberries + sweet rolls ^^
^^ and the easter bunny even paid us a visit,
leaving a basket full of our favorite trader joe's
treats...he knows us too well! :) ^^
^^ whole wheat sweet rolls since i knew i would be missing my mom's on easter! ^^
^^ easter dress for church ^^
our cutest friends rob & tara had us over for easter dinner,
and we planned a FEAST! tara made everything so fancy...she did
this asparagus salad with mandarin oranges, a tangerine glazed ham,
sparkling cider, i did homemade rolls, stuffing, maple glazed carrots, and of
course we had to have two desserts..an eclair cake and a banana raspberry cake.
as you can probably guess, i am STILL full from yesterday!
^^ this frosting had lemon rinds, raspberry, cream cheese, and
powdered sugar...all on top of banana cake. too good! ^^
 ^^ eclair cake ^^
this recipe will be coming on the blog asap, it was amazing and so simple!
you can tell chase was excited for his first bite...
^^ and one more picture of it because it was that good. ^^
happy april! this is my favorite favorite month ever.
hope you think of some fun ways to fool people today!
XO

  4. All looks delish! I sort of by-passed Easter. We were in the desert and it was warm and toasty .. so didn't feel like cooking a ham.
