one bowl brownies {and a cookie recipe}

happy tuesday! we are having a great but BUSY week,
and sometimes during these kind of weeks we just crave some
yummy basic treats..like brownies or cookies. the only thing is,
there is SUCH a big difference when they are made from scratch
instead of store-bought cookie dough, or brownie mixes. so today
here are two favorite recipes for these kinds of basics..
because your sweet tooth deserves it!

"one bowl brownies"
so much better than box brownies, and almost as easy to whip up!

ingredients:
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup {1.5 sticks} butter
2 cups sugar {i use a little less}
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour

directions:
microwave cocoa powder + butter in large microwave safe bowl for 2 minutes or until butter is melted. stir until combined. then, stir in sugar. add eggs & vanilla, mix well. add flour and stir until well blended. and that's it! spread into greased 9x13 baking pan. bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes, until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with fudgy crumbs {don't overbake!!}. cool in pan. enjoy!

and while we're at it, here is a great & simple
chocolate chip cookie recipe that we love!

chewy chocolate chip cookies
1 cube butter
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
*MIX*
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
*MIX*
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour {add gradually}
secret ingredient: a dash of cinnamon!!
*MIX*
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Bake: 350º for 7 minutes or until golden brown
*thanks randi for this recipe!

enjoy!
XO

    1. perfect! the cocoa powder might be a little different because it's the unsweetened store-bought kind, but maybe hot cocoa would work too! let me know!

    And my husband and I are opposite of you guys--in our house, he's the French-speaking one, and I'm the Spanish :)
