ice skating in union square

this has always been high on our bay area bucket list,
so why not do it with our friends in town on the last
weekend it's open? it's classic to ice skate in union square,
like the west coast equivalent of ice skating in NYC's
rockefeller center. we are so glad we did this to cap
off a fun MLK weekend with tay & megan in town.
^^ before the ice skating we did another
bucket list item and rode the st. francis
hotel glass elevator to the top floor to
overlook union square...amazing!! it
was fun to look down on the ice skating
before we were about to do it.
{thanks gabrielle for the tip!}
^^ ice skating in january with palm trees
covered in twinkly lights. i'll take it!
holding hands while ice skating >>>>
channeling our inner michelle kwan ^^
^^ real life. channeling his inner kristi yamaguchi.
^^ look closely, you can see chase
joining a huge train on the ice with
strangers. gotta love him!
^^ it's not often that you trade out flip flops
for ice skates...only in california. that's why this
made for such fun ice skating, it was warm outside
and so pleasant as we skated around! i prefer it that way.
sadly the ice rink closed this weekend,
but they open again in november and you
know we'll be back to ring in the start of the
holidays next year! {too soon to count down for
christmas?} keep it on your list to do in SF!
thai food after, followed by
dessert at ghirardelli square.
always.
thanks to the union square ice rink for
such a fun night! follow them here!

  2. I'm such a fan of doing "touristy" things when friends come to visit!! Looks like you had a blast and I really wish I had known about the glass elevator at the hotel...so would have done that when I was there in April!
