hyannis : cape cod

when i think hyannis, i think kennedy's.
given my ever so slight obsession with them,
it was a dream to be in hyannis! we saw the
beautiful homes, the kennedy memorial, and
best of all -- that famous kennedy compound.

we also tried some unique food at the island merchant
and met up with some cute friends who so nicely did
a cape cod photo shoot for us right on the shore. here
are a few other photos from our time in hyannis!

we took the p&b cape cod bus down from provincetown
all the way to hyannis. there aren't too many easy
transportation options on the cape, so this was a
good and inexpensive way to get where we needed!

we took the ferry from hyannis to nantucket
for the day and then returned that night.

a fluffy boston bagel for breakfast on the ferry ^^

french toast on the ferry for this guy ^^

these views of hyannis port... sigh!

after our amazing day on nantucket, we
ferried back to hyannis to meet our friends.

^^ those kennedy's...loved being
on their stomping grounds
some "behind the scenes" from our
fun little shoot with annmarie.

sweetest girl and greatest photographer!

we all went to dinner right in hyannis at
the island merchant and it was a great
refreshing break from the meals we'd had
so far. despite loving all of the simple fresh
seafood & lobster rolls, we loved the different
vibe of island merchant -- it had tropical twists
on new england seafood, and the flavors were
amazing. it's so central right near the ferries!
^^ mushroom soups + clam chowder to start
^^ the merchant tacos & the incredible jerked boat cod.
the lobster coconut ginger puree was heaven on earth!

we loved the cilantro marinated sirloin tips as well.

this place is a great stop for something
different in cape cod before catching a
ferry or after disembarking one :)

and we can't forget the key lime pie
homemade by the owner, yum!

annmarie {the talented photographer and our friend}
and her husband brian joined us for dinner here after
the fun photo shoot! i wish everyone could hear
brian's boston accent and annmarie's laugh. they
are an example of people we are so glad we met
through this blog! it was fun meet up with them in
SF and now boston! thanks for the amazing photos
and fun time! we loved the island merchant with them.

  1. I love those striped pants that you have on, in one of the photos - do you mind me asking where they are from?
