crepes crepes crepes

crepes are the best food in the world in our opinion.
it may or may not have to do with the fact that i lived in paris and ate one per day,
but husband loves them just as much so i think it's just that they are that good.
we make them once a week and even had them at our wedding.
this is definitely our favorite recipe after many trials!
..homemade crepes..
1 cup flour
1/3 cup water
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons melted butter
--set the butter aside and mix all ingredients together. once everything is well blended, add in butter and mix.
--heat crepe pan until hot and spray it.. pour a thin layer of batter until it spreads over the pan, cook for 30-50 seconds and flip over.
--serve warm with nutella, pb, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, jam, bananas, whipped cream, strawberries, etc.
bon appetit!
**while we're at it, we'll post our favorite regular pancake recipe and german pancake that this page can be your saturday morning breakfast recipe resource!

good old fashioned pancakes:
1.5 cups flour
3.5 tsps baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
and lastly..
german pancakes:
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
dash of salt
dash of cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
preheat oven to 425 degrees.
whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, salt and cinnamon in a bowl.
while the oven is preheating, melt the butter in a pie pan or 9 inch square pan.
pour the batter into the hot melted buttered pan.
bake 10-12 minutes (or until the pancake is firm and has puffed around the edges).
the pancake will shrink down a bit after coming out of the oven (that’s ok.) serve right away with lemon juice, powdered sugar, maple syrup, or fruit.

between these two recipes, you shouldn't be hungry this saturday morning!

    1. Hi! How fun! Magelby's actually did the crepes for our wedding because we wanted their famous chocolate cake, and then found out about their crepes! They were delicious with a darling stand and so reasonable compared to anything else.

Hmm in SLC I LOVE the store Maison Confiserie, and for French food I like Normandie Bakery, Eva's, Les Madeline's Bakery, Gourmandise, and Eva's of course!

      Hope that helps! xo
