mushroom tomato cream pasta

this is a recipe in chase's family that we LOVE.
i remember making it with his mom for the first time when i was dating chase,
and i've loved making it ever since. no one ever writes it down, you just kind of
make it..so here is my attempt to write it down roughly, so that the recipe can live on :)

mushroom tomato cream pasta

1 lb italian sausage, cooked, broken apart and drained
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
28 oz. can of crushed italian tomatoes
1 TB dried/fresh basil flakes
2 cups chopped mushrooms
1 cup half-and-half cream
1 lb. farfalle pasta
grated fresh parmesan

cook sausage in a large pot and drain. add garlic, tomatoes and seasonings and cook until bubbling. add grated cheese and cook on medium heat until cheese melts, stirring often. add half and half and cook on low until warm enough to serve. (do not let sauce boil after cream has been added).
*this amount serves 8-10 people, so you can cut it in half*
