last night in barcelona

by the end of the trip we were so tired after exploring 4 cities,

but we still stayed out late our last night in barcelona and had

a long, fancy dinner to say goodbye to this city in style.

loidi restaurante invited us to come eat there, and it was 

quite a treat. i've never been so full! {i say that a lot}.

the head chef garcés came out with each dish and

explained it and we loved chatting with him...and of 

course enjoying his creations! we were spoiled beyond

belief and it made our last night so much fun.

 this restaurant has a lounge feel to it,

and of course like everywhere in 

sain dinner doesn't really begin until

at least 9:00 pm...then loidi fills up

and it's crowded until late late late. i love

this about their culture but couldn't do it 

every night! too tired by the end :)

classic spanish tapa: tomato brushed garlic bread with the finest

cured meat on top...this place had the best version by far.

if you're in barcelona you have to have seafood!

mussels are not my favorite, but these were

so buttered + garlic-ed that they were good.

we loved chef garcés! he visited us with 

every sdish and he is so good at what he does.

^^here's the part my dad was really jealous of 

when he heard about it...his favorite seared ahi,

topped with caviar. so fancy but so divine.

 after our taste buds had been spoiled to the max,

they brought out the best part of all...dessert.

and not just dessert, but chocolate soufflé. 

AKA my very very very very favorite dessert.

this one had real {edible} gold painted across

the plate. ummmm. need i say more?

after allllll that food, at least we had a walk home in the rain!

it was a perfect ending to an incredible trip.
